Hello, there. I’m Brian Cendrowski, the dude at Untamed Beer. I always hate referring to myself as a connoisseur or aficionado, since those terms carry with them so much pretentiousness. I prefer to consider myself an appreciator of good beer.
After all, my overarching philosophy is not to beat craft beer into everyone I meet, but rather to encourage people to try new things, make new discoveries, and to follow your palate. If you like it, drink it, but don’t go through life without trying new things every once in a while. You never know when you might find a new favorite.
I started untamedbeer.com back in May 2007 to give my passion a voice. It’s been an awesome journey ever since. I’ve met many new people and have had many opportunities come my way. My goal is to educate and to bring people together. The world of beer is so much bigger than most people realize.
According to BJCP, there are over 140 classifiable styles of beer, with every brewer having their own recipe and twist on the style. How many different styles have you tried? I bet there are some you haven’t had! I know there quite a few I haven’t come across. It’s an evolving journey, and the more you learn the more you realize you have to learn.
In addition to appreciating beer other people make, I’ve also been a home brewer since January 2007. Learning to brew has given me a much greater appreciation of beer and all the nuances that are possible. It’s been the greatest learning tool I’ve had.
