Untamed Beer is a blog dedicated to making the world of beer attainable to everyone. In my effort to educate and increase awareness, I will focus on beer reviews, beer industry happenings and fostering discussion. Oh, and I hope to throw a little fun and frivolity in there for good measure. Actually, a lot of fun and frivolity.
According to dictionary.com, untamed is an adjective meaning “in a natural state; not tamed or domesticated or cultivated.” My vision is to get more people back to drinking beer that is brewed the way it was meant to be brewed, by brewers that have individuality and allow their personality to come through in their beer. There are thousands of brewers that have come before us that helped pave the way for the beers we enjoy today, but I feel there is still work to be done!
My vision behind Untamed Beer goes beyond just what goes into a beer and how I brew it up. It’s also about an attitude and a philosophy. I want to rise above the status-quo, the whims of the masses, and the domestication to which we have all been conditioned. I am no anarchist, but I do believe in individuality and not succumbing to other people’s ideals simply because we want to be accepted or to “get ahead” in life.
Life is so much more exciting with variety and individuality! There is a world of beauty and goodness out there, and we don’t have to accept the same-old-same-old. The same is true for beer! So grab your nearest craft brew and raise a glass to life! Untame yourself!
