American Craft Beer Week

craft beer week logoI’m a day late in my post, but yesterday began American Craft Beer Week. May 11 – 17 is a celebration to support craft breweries and the culture of craft beer. Many bars and breweries around the country are planning special events this week. If you are on Facebook, you can also sign the Declaration of Beer Independence by joining the American Craft Beer Week fan page.

Unfortunately, there are no events listed for South Carolina this week. However, for those of you in the rest of the country, take a look at the site and see what’s going on near you.

I do know that Bell’s is celebrating their South Carolina release this week. Last night there was an event in Greenville at Barley’s. Tonight is the Flying Saucer in Columbia, Wednesday it’s the Mellow Mushroom in Charleston. Thursday Bell’s will be available for sale at the Charleston Beer Exchange. I believe they’ll have several selections on tap for growler filling.

Be sure to support your local craft breweries by buying their stuff this week, and every week for that matter. There are no words of support louder than your money.
